These terms apply to your use of fixdryeyes.co.nz (the website), run on behalf of the Dry Eye Specialist Group, a network of independent eye care practices in New Zealand run by optometrists and ophthalmologists. By using the website you agree to them. The Dry Eye Specialists app has its own terms, set by the company that publishes it. See section 9.
The website gives general information about dry eye and the treatments our member practices offer. It is not a diagnosis, and it does not replace an examination by an optometrist or other qualified health professional. Treatment decisions should be made with your own clinician after an assessment.
If you have sudden loss of vision, significant eye pain, a red eye with sensitivity to light, an eye injury or chemical in your eye, get urgent care now. Call 111 in an emergency, or Healthline on 0800 611 116. Do not use the enquiry form for urgent problems.
Each member practice is its own business. Your appointments, examination, treatment, prices and payment are between you and the practice you see, under that practice's own terms. Not every treatment is available at every practice. Where a treatment your eyes need is offered elsewhere in the group, the practice may refer you.
Sending the enquiry form is a request to be contacted. It is not a confirmed booking. Your details go to the practice you choose, which will contact you to arrange a time. Please give accurate contact details. How we handle your information is set out in our Privacy Policy.
We work to keep the website accurate and current, and our clinical content is written by eye care clinicians. Research, treatments and practice details change, so some information may be out of date. Any prices shown are a guide only. The practice will confirm the price before you commit to treatment.
The website links to member practice websites and other sites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
The Dry Eye Specialist Group name and mark, and the text, images and design of the website, belong to the group or are used with permission. Each member practice's name and logo belong to that practice. You may view and share pages for personal, non-commercial use. Please do not copy or republish our content without permission.
Do not use the website unlawfully, interfere with its operation, send false or automated enquiries, or try to access parts of it you are not meant to reach.
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1986 or any other law that cannot be excluded by agreement. Subject to those rights, the website is provided free of charge and as available. So far as the law allows, the group is not liable for any loss arising from reliance on general information on the website, or for the website being unavailable. The group is not responsible for the clinical care a member practice provides. Each practice is responsible for its own services. If you use the website for business purposes, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 does not apply.
The Dry Eye Specialists app is published and operated by SynRo AB, Sweden, and built with the Dry Eye Specialist Group. When you use the app, your agreement is with SynRo AB under the app Terms and Conditions and app Privacy Policy. Purchases inside the app are billed, renewed and refunded by the Apple App Store or Google Play. The app is a self-care tool. It is not a medical device, and it does not diagnose or replace the care of your optometrist. See our app page for a summary.
We may update these terms. The new version will be posted on this page with a new date. Changes apply only to use of the website after they are posted.
These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and New Zealand courts deal with any dispute about them.
